(Adding to the other responses:) If you have some other programming experience, I strongly suggest you have a look at the Arduino toolchain for Eclipse.

Next, extract the folder arduino-1.0 from the downloaded archive.

Now, you just need to double click on the arduino file, choose Run from the dialog box that opens, and you're done!

Ok so I am logged in with alpari mt5 demo, i can see the prices moving from the market watch window but none of my charts for 6 major pairs will show new bars after .

all the other pairs charts i open say "Waiting for Update" for a short moment then show me the bars for today on the chart, but not my 6 majors or nzdusd, does anyone know what is wrong and how to fix it?

This is from notes I took when installing an Arduino. Change first line with /dev/tty AMC0 or whatever you found in your /dev/ directory. I don't know what this does I just read it somewhere and it worked. When I looked at the directory /dev I found that tty ACM0 would come and go when the Ardunio was plugged in or taken out.

It was very helpful when I had to go through the same thing with other computers. Mine was tty AMC0, yours may be tty USB* or tty S*. The following is used to log the serial input from the Arduino. Install kst //This program will take a your ascii file and put it on chart.

Configure Gtk Term to the port which Arduino is connected to.The Arduino needs to be plugged in and the serial reader in Sketch can't be on.You should be seeing the ascii numbers scrolling on Gtk Term.Configure the Gtk Term to log the information to a text file.If you open the text file now you should see the data in the file. $ apt-cache show arduino Package: arduino Priority: optional Section: universe/electronics Installed-Size: 881 Maintainer: Ubuntu Developers Original-Maintainer: Scott Howard Architecture: all Version: 1:1.0+dfsg-5 Depends: default-jre | java6-runtime, libjna-java, librxtx-java (= 2.2pre2-3), arduino-core (= 1:1.0+dfsg-5) Recommends: extra-xdg-menus, policykit-1 Filename: pool/universe/a/arduino/arduino_1.0+dfsg-5_Size: 684106 MD5sum: 5dd5fe5e36013a8cab1d47a1f62734cc SHA1: c86f2453bb4b41f9bf1dade070fd0b2da140467c SHA256: 7e9aaf51bf6b69214ba47ff7d077aa668da5b2b38c616e94ffca68b5564e8cc8 Description-en: AVR development board IDE and built-in libraries Arduino is an open-source electronics prototyping platform based on flexible, easy-to-use hardware and software.I can't remember if Gtk Term needs to be pause to read this. Use Data wizard to connect to the data text file with ascii. It's intended for artists, designers, hobbyists, and anyone interested in creating interactive objects or environments. This package will install the integrated development environment that allows for program writing, code verfication, compiling, and uploading to the Arduino development board.
